Job Title: Career Enrichment Network Graduate Assistant

Job Description: The Network is seeking a graduate assistant interested in working with undergraduate liberal arts students and assisting them in all aspects of their career development process. The graduate student assistant will be responsible for reviewing student application materials (résumés, cover letters, personal statements, etc.) and providing feedback to students to improve their materials both via the web-based Network Symplicity system and through in-person meetings. Training for résumé formatting and content will be provided.

This position will also provide an opportunity for the selected student to gain an overview of the operation of a college-based enrichment office that coordinates a range of opportunities for undergraduate students including professional practice, alumni mentoring, and global experiences. Graduate interns are involved in all aspects of the office operation, including attendance at internal and external meetings, student workshops and events, and serving as invited guest speakers for LA 401: Professional Development for the Liberal Arts Student. Opportunities to be involved in other aspects of the office operation will be available, depending on the selected student’s interests and availability.

Students with an interest in data collection and analysis will have to opportunity to analyze raw data and create reports related to students’ participation in professional practice, undergraduate research, and global experiences. Candidates with extensive experience with Excel and Qualtrics are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications: This position requires:
• a desire to learn about the wide array of opportunities and services available to students and to relay the appropriate information to suit a specific student’s situation
• editing skills and attention to detail
• flexibility, a positive attitude, and a team-oriented approach to work
